From that time in history, from another great man:
A quote from Admiral Chester Nimitz; " I asked God for strength that I might achieve. I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity that I might do better things. I asked for riches that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing I asked for, but everything I hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among all men, most richly blessed."

Our trip is getting closer....
Pre-war football days - Queen Anne, Seattle, Washington
Dad in 1922
Dad and Friends 1942
The Big Day!
From the Belleville Intelligencer
Mom and Dad, I think in a club in Montreal (I see a lot of my son Patrick and brother, John, in my Dad!)
Banking in Minot, North Dakota! (Where I was born)
Dad at First National Bank, Great Falls, Montana
Our trip is getting closer, just 3 weeks away! I have been digging through old pictures and hoping to add a few more of our Dad. I am thrilled that while I am the youngest in our family, I have been awarded the opportunity, along with Bill, to travel across the ocean to meet the family of brave Sergeant Barrie. We have plans to meet a few people in London and a few more in Edinburgh! I am posting pictures of my Dad, both before the war and after. Enjoy!
